I started doing yoga seriously 5 months after my youngest son was born. I was 30, 40 pounds overweight, no muscle strength whatsoever, stressed, inflexible, unsure of who I was, angry, and completely absorbed in my identity as a mother and wife. A fell in love with yoga right away and started a home practice. I had lost weight with yoga and other fitness routines, I had become happier and more peaceful. I became a better mother and wife. I was finding out who I was and standing in that truth. Yoga saved me. 6 months into my yoga journey I discussed teacher training with my teacher.  I wanted to bring yoga to everyone. I wanted to make it accessible to all people. I wanted to share the freedom and bliss I had found. I graduated Yoga Teacher Training from Sage Studio in May 2014. 

 

My Yoga

I believe Yoga is... whatever you need it to be, at any given moment, always. Yoga is fitness, yoga is relaxation, yoga is stretching, yoga is the chance to leave everything that makes you stuck or unhappy on your mat, yoga is freedom. 

My yoga is whatever my body needs. I am a Crossfitter, I lift weights, I do cardio, I run mud races, I hike and swim.. etc. I make my practice whatever will suit my bodys current needs. I write my customized sequences for my students the same way. Whatever you need at any given moment, Yoga will give it to you.
